General mail settings
The general settings provides storage quota information and gives access to the general settings for reading and sending emails.
Storage quota information
The storage quota information provides an "at a glance" indication of how much of your allocated storage space you have currently used.
On this page you can change the following general settings:
To select the interval that web-mail will check for new messages.
Note: You can always manually check for new mail by clicking on the mail tab.
- Select the interval from the list provided. The options available are:
- Click Save to update your account with your selected settings.
- Click Cancel to undo any changes since your last save.

every 15 minutes
every 30 minutes
every hour

To select the interval that drafts of any email that you are composing will be saved to the drafts folder.
- Select the interval from the list provided. The options available are:
- Click Save to update your account with your selected settings.
- Click Cancel to undo any changes since your last save.

or
To have all outgoing mail automatically saved in the Sent folder.
- Select the Save sent messages check box.
- Click Save to update your account with your selected settings.
- Click Cancel to undo any changes since your last save.

To have any new recipients that you have added to an email to automatically added to your contacts.
- Select the Auto-save new contacts check box.
- Click Save to update your account with your selected settings.
- Click Cancel to undo any changes since your last save.
or
To show the times that messages were received or sent in the message list.
- Select Yes to show the time-stamp associated with a message.
- Select No to hide the time-stamp associated with a message.

Note: The format of the time-stamp is set in the Locale setting.
To have the display update to the next available email after you have successfully moved or deleted the currently selected email.
- Select the View next mail after delete/move check box .
- Click Save to update your account with your selected settings.
- Click Cancel to undo any changes since your last save.

To have your deleted messages cleared when you log out of web-mail
- Select the Empty trash on logout check box.
Note: you cannot recover mail from the Trash folder once you have carried out either a manual or an automatic empty.
- Click Save to update your account with your selected settings.
or
- Click Cancel to undo any changes since your last save.
To have the original email attached to your reply automatically.
- Select the Reply quoting original messages check box.
- Select the indentation option from the list. The options available are:
- Click Save to update your account with your selected settings.
- Click Cancel to undo any changes since your last save.

To enable the rich text formatting option when composing a new message.
- Select the Compose messages in rich text format check box .
- Click Save to update your account with your selected settings.
- Click Cancel to undo any changes since your last save.
Note: You will only get the formatting, font and color options if you have enabled this setting.
or
To have the preview pane show the first available email after a successful logon.
- Select the Show first mail in preview pane check box.
- Click Save to update your account with your selected settings.
- Click Cancel to undo any changes since your last save.
Note: The preview pane must be turn on to have the email displayed.
